Who this agreement is with

These terms are the draft intended to govern your use of basketbee.app and the Basket Bee Intelligence portal. They are not yet in effect and are not yet binding on anyone. Once they take effect, using either will mean you agree to them, and if you do not agree you should not use the service. Other Basket Bee services, where they exist, are governed by the terms supplied with them.

The contracting entity is BasketBee, founded in 2026. Its address for service of notices is 6th of October City, Cairo, Egypt.

What Basket Bee is

Basket Bee is a market-measurement service. We collect publicly listed grocery prices from Egyptian retailers, work out which listings refer to the same product, and deliver the resulting measurements to licensed clients through the Basket Bee Intelligence portal.

Basket Bee is not a shop and not a broker. We do not sell groceries, take payment for them, hold stock, or deliver. We do not act for any retailer and we do not set anybody's prices.

We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any of the retailers whose listings we measure.

Prices are snapshots, not promises

Every price we report is what the named source displayed at the recorded time, and we show when that was. We do not verify it against the shelf. Prices change, promotions end, stock runs out, and a store's own page can be wrong. Our figures are a dated measurement of what was published, not a live feed and not a guarantee of anyone's price.

We do not undertake that any figure we report will be honoured by any retailer, and nothing we publish should be presented to a third party as a retailer's committed price.

Where we group different listings as comparable, that is our assessment based on a published method, not a claim that the items are identical in every respect. Where we are unsure, we say so rather than guessing.

Access and accounts

This website is public and needs no account. Access to the Basket Bee Intelligence portal is granted to named people at an organization that holds a current licence, and only for the scope that licence defines.

• Accounts are personal. Do not share credentials or let someone else sign in as you.
• Keep your credentials secure and tell us promptly if you think they have been compromised.
• Your organization's administrator can add and remove people, and we act on their instructions.
• We may suspend access that is being used to attack, overload or bulk-extract from the service.

Fees, the licence term, renewal, suspension and termination are set in the client's own licence agreement rather than here.

Acceptable use

Use Basket Bee for your organization's own decisions. You agree not to:

• scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-download our data, or point automated tools at the service;
• resell, republish or commercially redistribute our measurements or price data outside the scope of a written agreement with us;
• circumvent, disable or probe any rate limit, security check, access control or technical measure;
• misrepresent our figures — for example by presenting a single price as a guarantee, or by stripping the freshness and confidence context we publish alongside it;
• use the service to break the law, infringe someone's rights, or interfere with anyone else's use of it.

Our content and the compiled dataset

The Basket Bee name, logo, design, software and written content belong to us.

So does the compiled dataset. The individual retail prices are public facts published by the shops. What Basket Bee creates is different: a normalized, matched and provenance-carrying compilation of them — the schema, the product graph, the matching decisions, the confidence and freshness context, and the corrections layered on top. That compilation is our work and our property, and the automated extraction of it is not permitted.

Parts of the technology behind Basket Bee are patented.

Retailer names and logos appearing on Basket Bee are the property of their owners. We use them only to identify the source of a measurement, which is what reporting on a market requires.

Business clients

Access to the Basket Bee Intelligence portal is licensed under a separate written agreement that sets out the brands, categories and competitors in scope, the permitted internal use, and the term. Where that agreement and these terms conflict, that agreement wins for the licensed service.

Portal output is licensed for the client's own internal decisions. It may not be redistributed, resold or published without our written permission.

Availability and changes

Basket Bee is offered as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, complete, or free of error. Coverage grows and occasionally shrinks as sources change.

We may add, change or withdraw features. If we withdraw something you depend on, we will try to say so in advance.

Liability

Commercial decisions taken on the strength of our measurements are yours. We are not responsible for a retailer's conduct, pricing, stock or delivery.

Governing law

Basket Bee is operated from Egypt. These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, with disputes heard by the competent Egyptian courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version line at the top of the page shows when they last changed. Once they are in effect, continuing to use Basket Bee after a change will mean you accept the updated terms; if you do not, stop using the service and ask your administrator to close your access.
