Coverage

The stores we read.

Thirty-one retail chains and marketplaces, read across their own storefronts, the delivery platforms that carry them, and the flyers they publish in branch. Coverage grows, and occasionally shrinks when a source changes — we report it either way.

What is actually in it

Coverage is the list of places we read. This is the shape of what comes back from them, and what a licence gives you access to.

  • A price, and everything that qualifies it

A number on its own is not a measurement. Every listing we keep carries the store it was read at, the day it was read, the pack size it was sold in, and the conditions attached to it — so a bundle, a card offer or a quantity break never quietly becomes the shelf price.

  • The same product, across the stores that sell it

Listings are resolved into products, so a line can be followed from one retailer to the next instead of compared by name. Where a barcode exists it anchors the match; where it does not, the match is made and then reviewed rather than assumed.

  • Shelf and delivery, kept apart

A chain's own storefront and its listing on a delivery platform are two different prices for the same item, and they are stored as two different measurements. Nothing averages them into one blended number.

  • Priced by place, not by country

Where a retailer prices differently by city or by branch, those are separate measurements rather than one national average — because a brand manager in Alexandria is not looking at the same shelf as one in New Cairo.

  • Both languages, as they were published

Names, sizes and brand wording are kept in Arabic and in English exactly as the retailer wrote them. Arabic is not a translation layer bolted on afterwards, and a search in either language finds the same product.
